Meet Linda

Linda Bonnell is a Family Mediator with more than two decades of experience in helping children and their families cope with crisis and sensitive issues. She has a Certificate in Conflict Resolution, Mediation and Negotiation from the Justice Institute of BC. She is a Certified Comprehensive Family Mediator (Family Mediation Canada) and is a Member of both the Family and the Child Protection Mediator Rosters. She brings to her practice 19 years experience in nursing. Her areas of specialization were pediatric intensive care, emergency care and oncology. In addition, she was a Nurse Manger in pediatric oncology and worked in Quality Assurance, assessing workplace performance and developing and implementing strategies for improvement.

Prior to entering private practice, Linda worked as a Family Justice Counsellor with the Ministry of Attorney General from the New Westminster Courthouse, mediating both Provincial and Supreme Court issues and dealing with referrals from high-conflict situations directly from Judges. Linda private practice focuses on separation and divorce, child-related issues, spousal support, and property and asset division. She has enhanced her education with specialized coursework in child protection mediation, parent-teen mediation, and families with drug, alcohol and mental health issues. She has also completed training as a Parent Coordinator and has a special interest in mediating with families in high conflict.

Linda is a passionate parent educator. She is a Contract Facilitator with both Parenting After Separation and Separated With Children Dealing With The Finances that addresses the financial aspects of separation and divorce. In addition to writing her own parent education materials she authored and edited the Facilitator´┐Żs Manual and Parent Handbook for the financial separation course.

Linda is a contract mediator providing Child Protection Mediation Services to the Province.

Linda is a mentor with the Family Mediation Practicum Project, providing leadership and coaching to new family mediators. In 2007 she became the Project Manager.

Linda is a member of the Board of Directors for Family Mediation Canada and chairs the Certification Committee.
